COUNCIL MEETING/WORKSHOP

 

The minutes of a regular meeting of the Borough Council of the Borough of Pine Hill, County of Camden , State of New Jersey , held on FEBRUARY 11, 2008

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Fred Costantino at 7:35pm , followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

 

The Clerk stated that the notice requirements provided for in the "Open Public Meetings Act" have been satisfied. Notice was properly given and transmitted to the Record Breeze, Blackwood, New Jersey and the Courier Post, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, posted on the bulletin board in the Borough Hall and on file with the Borough Clerk of the Borough of Pine Hill all on January 8, 2008.

Motion to accept the resignations of the MUA Alternates made by Mr. Del Rossi, seconded by Mr. Warrington. On voice vote motion carried

2008-34   Authorize the Proper Officials to Sign and Seal an Interlocal Services Agreement Between Various Municipalities and the Camden County Animal Consortium for Animal Shelter Services.

 

2008-35   Authorize the Proper Officials to Execute and Seal the Agreement between the Senior Citizens United Community Services (SCUCS)

  and the Borough of Pine Hill. (Nutrition Program)

 

2008-36   Change in the Designation of Bus Stops on Erial Rd and West Branch Ave

 

2008-37   Appointments to the Pine Hill Municipal Utilities Authority

COUNCIL REPORTS:

 

Mr. Como   Attended Jiff Meeting thought it was a very good presentation. Mayor thanked Mr. Como for bringing back the information on the Gypsy Moths.

 

Mr. Warrington   Met with the Police Chief and picked up 27 bags of trash doing the clean community. He also discussed the summer program with two members of the Municipal Alliance and will be sitting down with Mr. Como to discuss what they would like to do about the summer program.

 

Mr. Del Rossi     Animal fees, we are checking with other towns to see what their fees for animal licensing are. Once this review is complete we will discuss this next week. Placement of clothing bins - we should consider charging a permit fee for businesses placing these on their property to help control the placement of the bins.

 

Mr. Green The Fire District elections are being held on Saturday the 16 th of February.

 

Mrs. Mc Cullen   Reminder about “Dr. Seuss Read Across America”, thanked the Pine Hill Fire Department for volunteering to participate. She feels that the children will identify with the people in uniform reading to them. The Mayor contacted the librarian and is waiting for her to call him back. The American Legion has expressed interest in participating.

 

 

Mr. Malissa   The public works resin issue is being resolved. The salt storage building is up but the frame was damaged by the crane used by the contractor and the he knows that he has to replace it, but the salt can be put in at any time. A Grant for Clear View Ave. for $150,000.00 was received and we are looking at redoing the road and looking at different ways to have it done to stay within that budget. A “ Safe Street ” proposal being put together for council.
