MARCH 10, 2008
The minutes of a regular meeting of the Borough of Pine Hill, County of Camden , State of New Jersey , held on March 10, 2008 . The meeting was called to order by
Mayor Costantino at 7:30pm , followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
The clerk stated that the notice requirements provided for in the “Open Public Meetings Act” have been satisfied. Notice was properly given and transmitted to the Journal, Berlin, New Jersey and the Courier Post Newspaper, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, posted on the bulletin board in the Borough Hall and on file with the Borough Clerk of the Borough of Pine Hill all on January 8, 2008.

COUNCIL DISCUSSION:
Mayor Costantino requested Mr. Welding to attend tonight's meeting to discuss the budget. Will address the question of applying for extraordinary aid.
Mr. Welding: The proposed an increase of 13 ½ cents. Using all surplus except $180,000.00. Maxed out our collection rate a 3 year average. Made cuts where we could make them. Arrived at a 131/2 cent increase.
Mr. Green: $.01 on Tax Rate. Trash lowest bid was $150,000.00 for 3 years. Pension $127,000.000 this year. State Cuts $153,000.00 worth of aid to be cut.
Mr. Cardis If the Sate Aid is reinstated it will cut the tax increase by 7.7cents.
Mr. Welding: State must have their budget completed by June 30, 2008
$181,000 in cash reserves with the sale of the properties.
Extraordinary Aid discussed at length among the council. It was decided not to make the application for extraordinary aid.

Mayor Costantino opened the floor to the public.

COUNCIL REPORTS:
Mayor Costantino
Saturday morning went to a meeting in Gloucester Township regarding the budget. This is a critical situation for all of the towns in New Jersey . Pine Hill is one of the fortunate towns. Lou Greenwold is having a meeting on March 28, 2008 to discuss merging of towns. Mayor will email council members to let them know what happens at that meeting. Thanking Chris Como for his Donations to the public works.
Mr. Como Easter egg Hunt on 03/2/08 at 11:00 am . If you wish to donate a basket please contact Rick Williams.
Mr. Warrington Easter Baskets he will pick them up and drop them off for anyone donating them. Hunt needs help setting up. Receiving compliments from the public regarding how please they are with Public Safety.
Mr. Del Rossi Seniors on Social Security need to file 1040 form please let all seniors know and Disabled Veterans. Clothing bins will be researched further.
Mr. Green Municipal Alliance gave a $2000.00 donation to the Graduation Project. Need to introduce the budget.
Mrs. McCullen Read across America was a success and High School Students gave a lot of cooperation. Recycling letters went out and we've had a good response. Back up plan for freedom triangle. Blackwood Clementon Road and Little Mill Road asking for a start date.
Chief Cheeseman Widening of Blackwood Clementon starting this week and project will take about a year. 2 Bridges will be replaced.
Mr. Malissa Plumbing problem at public works has been repaired. Problem with sheet rock hanging, builder coming to fix.
